The Wright time for Scandinavian design.

In a recent Financial Times article, Richard Wright, founder and director of Wright auction house in Chicago, provided insights on how to invest in modern furniture. Wright suggests starting with an undervalued area, and believes that one such area is in Scandinavian design, where “the absolute top work from the 20th century sells for less than $100,000 – the vast majority sells for less than $10,000,” said Wright. “A real opportunity exists in this market.” If you’re ready to test his theory, be sure to check out the Scandinavian Design auction on November 18. The lots include stunning work by Finn Juhl and Arne Jacobsen, as well as Hans Wegner’s Swivel Chair (one of my absolute favorite chairs) shown above.
