Q: Why is Be Original important?
A: Because without originality the world would become an imitation of itself and we wouldn’t move forward, expanding our knowledge, improving solutions and thereby life in general. Originality is needed more than ever, so it’s important that we understand and respect intellectual property rights.
Help fight copies. Email email@example.com if you see a counterfeit Fritz Hansen product.
Q: Have Fritz Hansen products been knocked off?
A: Yes, many times. We have prosecuted those who violated our rights. Often you win but it’s expensive and exhausting.
Hilversum City Hall in the Netherlands.
Q: Who is your favorite architect?
A: When I studied in Amsterdam I got to know the work of the Dutch architect Willem Dudok. His Hilversum City Hall completed 1931 is amazing. There’s something lasting about his buildings.
Q: What are you reading?
A: I have always had a weak spot for , a 1984 science fiction novel by William Gibson. In this book he predicts the Internet and its influence…very visionary and original. Neuromancer
Q: What makes you an original?
A: I’m not a fan of repetition. I like to do things different and I believe that change brings us forward.
