Our Seattle Studio did a beautiful job furnishing this Montana residence, and the happy homeowners have given us permission to share the final result with you. This stunning custom home is the work of architects Studio Zerbey and Balance Associates, as well as contractor Joe McMahon. Constructed of richly colored wood, poured concrete and Corten steel, the house is an intriguing arrangement of rectilinear forms that create a pleasing juxtaposition with the surrounding landscape.
Large sliding doors provide an uninterrupted connection between indoors and out, and allow the soothing sounds of the nearby creek to fill the bright and airy rooms. To maximize outdoor space on the steeply sloped lot, the architects created a cantilevered deck that’s cleverly supported by an outdoor fireplace.
Also showcasing their genius, they placed the dining table on tracks so it can be easily rolled between the covered and uncovered areas. If the weather suddenly changes, this table can be moved in a jiffy. Speaking of the environment, this home meets many sustainable building practices, including solar panels and a green roof with native plants.
We sincerely thank the homeowners for letting us be part of this process. We hope they enjoy their beautiful home for many years to come.
