What an amazing year! We could not have done it without you, and we greatly appreciate your support over the last 12 months.

Everything we do is with you in mind, and we are always striving to give you the best experience possible.

You’ll be receiving our January catalog soon, and I hope that you will be as excited to read it as we were to write it. (If you’re not on our catalog list, you can sign up here.)

Thank you for your passion for great design and for appreciating our hard work. We look forward to sharing more with you this year.

I hope people are as nice to you in 2012 as you were to us in 2011.

Love the new catalogue. Unfortunately, "within reach" is so far out of reach that the original mission; creating an affordable way to incorporate modern design into the culture, has been lost with high-price pieces that few can afford.

Thank you for your comment on our blog, and for your kind words about our catalog. Our name, Design Within Reach, causes a lot of confusion, and I can understand your frustration. However, I must tell you the story of how we began.

When Rob Forbes founded this company 11 years ago, products from companies like Knoll, Herman Miller and Flos could not be purchased by anyone except the Trade. They were out of reach for retail consumers and you literally had to hire an interior designer to purchase them. So Rob decided to do something about it, and started this company to make design within reach. It wasn't about price point. It was about accessibility. And we're proud to continue his vision today by bringing you works by Milo Baughman, David Weeks, Rich Brilliant Willing and many others.

As for our prices, yes, we have expensive items. We also have many less-expensive items, and I truly hope you'll spend some time browsing our website (newly redesigned, by the way) to see our full assortment. Our catalogs can only hold a fraction of what we offer, and don't always reflect the full breadth of DWR.
