Type away, my valentine.

We’re celebrating a different kind of Valentine – the Olivetti Valentine Typewriter designed by Perry King and Ettore Sottsass.

Designed to be an “anti-machine machine,” for use “any place but an office,” this design quickly made its way into MoMA’s heart and permanent collection in 1971.

Perhaps the coolest part was the advertisement campaign that accompany this fascinating invention. With a groovy tone and colorful graphics, the radical design of the Valentine Typewriter was deemed as revolutionary.
